Chaa Da Cup - Please!

Chaa Da Cup - Please! is a food blog created for all food lovers

(n.b - mostly chai loving lovers).

The various mixtures of ingredients and recipes complement a hearty Chaa Da Cup! - you'll probably be looking (asking) for one ;)

This is my version of home cooked Punjabi-Kenyan heartiness.

No.5 - Coriander, Ginger & Garlic Pousin Chips

7 different ingredients - 30min to prepare - serves 5 people

Ingredients:

5 bunches – coriander (dhania).

2 cloves (large) – garlic (paste).

1 stem (medium) – ginger (paste).

2 kgs (large) – white potatoes (thick/thin slices).

2 tablespoons – butter/ margarine.

1 tablespoon – hot paprika.

1 tablespoon – cajun powder.

Method:

Making the Pousin Sauce:

In a large pan add 2 tablespoons of butter/margarine with 1 tablespoon of hot paprika and cajun powder. Let the powders combine in the fat to become a sauce, allowing the flavours to seep in.

Grind both the ginger and garlic to create a paste and add them into the butter. Finely cut 5 bunches of coriander and add them to the sauce, mix all the ingredients together to become one.

Making the Chips:

Peel, wash and cut 2 kgs of large potatoes into long/short thin/thick slices and sprinkle a pinch of salt over the slices. Deep fry the slices in hot vegetable oil or bake them in an oven until they turn golden-brown and crispy.

Finally, add the golden-brown crispy chips into the sauce giving it all a good mix and serve them with a hot Chaa Da Cup – Please!
